Syntheogen Guide

When you first start Syntheogen, you will see the MAIN dialog:

On the left, the application version number is displayed, along with the following buttons:

SETUP Displays the SETUP dialog, which is used to configure general Syntheogen settings.
ADD SAMPS Displays the ALL ADD-ON SAMPLES dialog, where you can create, edit, or delete custom samples.
GUIDE Opens a browser instance displaying this page.
NEWS Displays changes in this and previous versions.

SONG buttons

ALL SONGS ALL SONGS button Displays the ALL SONGS dialog, which lists all the songs on your device, and allows you to edit or delete selected songs, or create new ones.
SONG SONG button Displays the current song in the SONG dialog, where you can edit it.

The name of the current song is shown in the thin bar to the right of these buttons.

LOOP buttons

ALL LOOPS ALL LOOPS button Displays the ALL LOOPS dialog, which lists all the loops on your device, and allows you to edit or delete selected loops, or create new ones.
LOOP EFFECTS LOOP EFFECTS button Displays the current loop in the LOOP EFFECTS dialog, where you can add effects that process the loop as a whole.
LOOP MIX LOOP MIX button Displays the current loop in the LOOP MIX dialog, where you can add or remove tracks, change their levels or pan positions, and solo or mute them. From this dialog, you can also select a track for editing.
LOOP STEPS LOOP STEPS button Displays the current loop in the LOOP STEPS dialog, where you can edit all the patterns in your loop. From this dialog, you can also select a track for editing.

The name of the current loop is shown in the thin bar to the right of these buttons.

TRACK buttons

ALL TRACKS ALL TRACKS button Displays the ALL TRACKS dialog, which lists the tracks on your device, and allows you to edit or delete them, or create new ones. Only tracks that are referenced by the current loop can be edited.
TRACK EFFECTS TRACK EFFECTS button

Displays the current track in the TRACK EFFECTS dialog, where you can add effects that process that track specifically.

Tracks can be selected for editing from the LOOP STEPS, LOOP MIX, or the ALL TRACKS dialog. Only tracks in the current loop can be edited, so if you switch to a different loop, this button will be disabled until a new track is selected.

TRACK SYNTH TRACK SYNTH button

Displays the current track in the TRACK SYNTH dialog, where you can modify the synthesis parameters that define its basic sound.

As above, if you switch to a different loop, this button will be disabled until a new track is selected.

The name of the current track is shown in the thin bar to the right of these buttons.
